Passion without boundaries.

The freedom of the unknown.

A night you’ll never forget.

Welcome to Club Q.

Hadley has never been one to shy away from a challenge between the sheets, but she’s been craving something she just can’t put her finger on. When a mysterious silver envelope shows up on her desk at work, inviting her to join Club Q, she’s about to get everything she didn’t even know she wanted.

A haven for the rich and beautiful, little is known about Club Q to those not on the list. For Chicago’s elite it means sex unlike anything they had ever experienced before

First Impression

I was looking for something short & sweet and I came across Lover Unknown. Something about this reminds me of S.E.C.R.E.T. by L. Marie Adeline, but that’s probably just me. Either way this still sounds good!

Opening Lines

Attempting to look preoccupied, I twirled the silver envelope through my fingers, willing myself to take that one last step. All I had to do was walk around the corner-off the main strip of city lights, and into a dimly lit alley-and there I was. Club Q.”

The Good

Wait. No. NOO!! That’s it? Do you know how many times I kept clicking on the arrow hoping there would be more? At least one more chapter! There is so much I want to say but it’ll just spoil the story for everyone, so my lips are sealed! This book was Steamy with a capital S! Eight pages in and Ellie Kincade had my body tingling with the description of Hadley getting check! Oh boy. It just kept getting better and hotter and the last chapter I completely didn’t see that coming!

“I felt the unfamiliar body shift behind me as the check continued-this time up the inside of my legs, connecting with every inch of thing. Higher and higher his hands lifted, seemingly in slow motion”

The Bad

  • Nothing!

The In-Between

  • Zilch.

Lasting Impression

OverallLover Unknown was fantastic! Ellie Kincade, as a debut novella you deserve a pat on the back and a round of applause! I need book 2 now! Also, I want to read more about Nina. I know her story would be a good one!

Every time Hazel Bell goes on a date, she returns home unhappy and disenchanted about love. At least her best friend Adrian Williams is always there for her, even more so now that they’re roommates. After both of them have a bad night out, they decide to just relax and forget the world for awhile. It’s been a long time since they’ve been alone together. They certainly weren’t counting on the close quarters bringing out hidden desires. Now it appears their platonic friendship is being put to the test—one that neither can resist. By the end of the night, will it be the end for Hazel and Adrian—or a new beginning?

**I received a copy of Here All Along from the author in exchange for honest review**

First Impression

Ohhh…roommates/friends who are about to possibly cross that line? Count me in!

Opening Lines

I need a drink. Now.”
After tossing—fine, throwing—my purse and keys on the couch, I march straight into the kitchen.”

The Good

I wish I had known that you were here all along, Adrian.”

I’m a sucker for when an author takes advantage of inserting the title into the text of a book. So many authors miss out on that opportunity but not Lilly Avalon! While Here All Along is too short, its still a well written book that gives you just enough details but keeps you wanting more. I flipped through this quickly and loved the descriptions that Lilly Avalon provided, it gives readers get insight of what Hazel is feeling.

The In-Between

I would have loved to have seen more back story on both characters, I felt the little of information was given was certainly not enough for me to build a connection with Hazel or Adrian.

Lasting Impression

Overall, Here All Along was a light, quick and steamy read! A little too short for my liking but I look forward to the development between Hazel and Adrian in the next book!

First Impression

The title is Come? Okay, get your head out of the gutter Patty it doesn’t have to mean something dirty, even if there’s a half naked guy on the cover. *Reads synopsis* see Patty!? There’s no sexual reference what so ever! It’s probably just a suspenseful series with a little bit of romance. Get it together Patty.

Opening Lines

Even if I wasn’t looking…
Even if I wasn’t watching…
Even if I wasn’t obsessed…
There’s no way in hell I could miss her.”

The Good

 photo tumblr_moowllT2PI1qf7vx5o3_400_zpse8c01928.gif

WELL THEN!! I was wrong, oh I was so wrong. My head was originally in the RIGHT place! Who would have thought? Come is indeed dirty, hot, and steamy. This was my first J.A. Huss book and I have to say there was never a dull moment!! This book started off strong, the first couple of chapters were insanely good! But I felt that didn’t follow throughout the rest of the book. However, it still did keep me intrigued from beginning to end! I found both Harper and James to be unique and intriguing characters. It was funny seeing James go from Mr. Beautiful to Mr. Dark & Dirty. The above gif is equivalent to my facial expression while reading certain scenes! Also, I strongly believe that James is Edward Cullen’s twin. Why? He’s a stalker..

“I know she has a phone. But I also know she never uses it. I’ve checked the minutes. It never changes. I know how much money she has, what’s inside her fridge. I know she touches herself at night sometimes. And she moans as she comes, her back arching for a second.”

The Bad

  • Nothing that I would actually consider bad.

The In-Between

  • Suspense? Where art thou? – I was hoping to get some real suspense while reading this, but unless I missed it there was no suspense. Hopefully there will be some major suspense in the next book!
  • POV – With the way the synopsis is written I expected that majority of this book would be from James’ perspective, there were a couple of chapters from his pov but majority of them we’re from Harper. I wanted more James!!

Lasting Impression

Overall, Come was an interesting read. It’s one of those books that’s brings me out of my comfort zone but still manages to make me interested in seeing what will happen next! If you’re a fan of Adult Fiction/Erotica and Romance than this is a book you HAVE to read.

The continuing story of Elsie and Henry…

Elsie has waited six long months for Henry to return from his deployment to Afghanistan. But she learns that, sometimes, the person who leaves for war is rarely the same one who comes home…

Besiege is the second novella in the DISARM series by June Gray. It picks up right where Disarm left off, although slow Gray covers how Elsie’s life is without Henry. I was a little worried on how Gray would keep this story, I honestly figured that while Henry was gone this story would flat with correspondence back and forth between the two, but I was wrong. She throws in a twist with David (not much of a twist) and when Henry comes back from Afghanistan we learn that he’s not the same guy that Elsie fell in love with.

Overall, Besiege is short but intriguing!

Review: Red & Wolfe (Red & Wolfe, #1)

Red & Wolfe, Part I

Author: Ella James
Series: Red & Wolfe, #1
Genre: Adult Fiction, Erotica
Publisher: Barkley’s Books
Publication Date: May 9th, 2014
Format: PDF
Pages: 35

When Sarah “Red” Ryder loses her job as an art critic for a Boston newspaper, she’s brokenhearted. Worse than that? She’s broke. Her boyfriend recently left her – for a tatted-up hottie with a dick – so she’s stuck paying her hefty apartment rent alone. After two months unemployed, there’s no money left. With no immediate family to turn to, Red reaches out to her estranged grandmother, a reclusive writer living on an island off the coast of Charleston. Several days later, Red receives $30,000 and an invitation to visit.

James Wolfe is not Red’s grandmother. But he beckons her. Red has the ability to give him something he needs. He won’t take “no” for an answer, and he doesn’t mind screwing her over. He lost his conscience six years ago, when he was tried for the murder of his wife. Since then, life is about him – and the paintings he does under the mysterious pseudonym “W.”

Wolfe needs the island to keep painting. To live his life away from prying eyes. To keep up the anonymity of “W.”

Once he sees Red, he finds that he needs her, too. And Wolfe will have her. Any way he can.

**The story of Red & Wolfe will be told in three novellas. The next one releases May 21.**

I slap a mental headline on my distress: ‘Canned reporter chokes to death on $20 wine’

Talk about having the worst luck possible! Red has lost her mother, her job, her boyfriend, soon to be her apartment and she’s down to the bare minimum when it comes to money and food. Applying for every job possible and selling all of her furniture Red has exhausted all of her options but one; reach out to her grandmother who she’s never talked to. Realizing that it’s her last option Red sends her an email and gets a reply back with one single word, come.

And this is where the story really starts to get interesting because it wasn’t Red’s grandmother who sent the email but Mr. James Wolfe! We’re taken on the mini adventure of Red and Wolfe meeting face to face and boy is it ever entertaining!

Overall, Red & Wolfe, Part I was my first Ella James’ book and while I wasn’t prepared for how sexuality explicit Wolfe can be I definitely did enjoy read this! But that cliffhanger!?! I can’t wait to get my hands on Red & Wolfe, Part II to see what’s in store next for Red and Mr. Wolfe. Don’t let me down Ella James!

An Excerpt from Jasmine Haynes

Take Your Pleasure in MAKE ME:

Natalie wanted to gag. It had been such a shitty week. Mr. Masters was right about everything. She’d failed him miserably, made so many mistakes. He was a hard taskmaster, but she’d always measured up, always delivered more than required. Until last weekend, when she’d walked in on Van with that woman. Now she couldn’t stop replaying those images in her mind, and they seemed to overshadow everything else she was supposed to be doing on the job.

She’d been with Van for two years. At thirty years old, with her own home and a solid job, Natalie had even considered taking the next step with him, moving in together. How could he do that to her? And how could he do that with some horrible woman dressed head to toe in skintight leather?

There wasn’t a single bulge on her lithe form.

Natalie shuddered to think of her own body packed into all that leather. But the worst was the noises he’d made, the sighs, the moans, the cries, the groans of pleasure. He’d never sounded like that with Natalie, never gone utterly wild when she touched him. Not even in the beginning.

“Miss Beaumonde, are you listening to me?”

Oh God. “Of course, sir.” What had he said?

She certainly couldn’t tell Mr. Masters all her personal problems. First of all, she wouldn’t receive an ounce of sympathy. Second, he didn’t believe personal issues should ever get in the way of work. Honestly, neither did she.

He rounded the end of his desk and paced behind her in a semicircle. She didn’t dare turn her head to look at him despite the itch along her spine. You never wanted Mr. Masters at your back when he was pissed at you. Though when he was on your side, there was no greater ally.

“I’m very displeased, Miss Beaumonde, and, quite frankly, shocked.” His breath was at her ear. “This isn’t like you.”

She’d worked for the company for five years and as his executive assistant for a year. She’d always done an exceptional job for him.

“So…” Coming to rest beside her, he lowered his voice to an almost seductive pitch. With his tall form only in her peripheral vision, feeling him next to her rather than seeing him clearly enhanced the effect. His tone was like warm maple syrup drizzled down her spine and licked all the way back up. “You have a decision, my dear,” he finished softly.

She suppressed the urge to shiver. It wasn’t the thing to get turned on by your boss’s voice, especially when you were on the rebound from catching your boyfriend with another woman. “Yes, sir,” she whispered. “I’ll do whatever I can to make it up to you.”

“You most certainly will, Miss Beaumonde.” Facing her, he leaned back against his desk, crossing his arms over his chest. “Now here’s your choice.” He cocked an eyebrow. “You can tell me what issue has put your job second on your list of priorities.” After a pause, he added, “In detail.”

Oh no no no. She stared at the desktop rather than meet his gaze. Even now, remembering Van’s wild abandon and his total pleasure at the hands of another woman was demoralizing. Natalie had suddenly had it slammed in her face that she wasn’t woman enough for him. And she certainly couldn’t describe what she’d seen.

So, uh, no, not gonna tell Mr. Masters a thing.

“Or,” her boss went on inexorably when she said nothing, “you can bend over my desk, lift your skirt, and take the spanking you so richly deserve.”
