In the Labyrinth, we had a saying: keep silent, keep still, keep safe.

In a city of walls and secrets, where only one man is supposed to possess magic, seventeen-year-old Kai struggles to keep hidden her own secret—she can manipulate the threads of time. When Kai was eight, she was found by Reev on the riverbank, and her “brother” has taken care of her ever since. Kai doesn’t know where her ability comes from—or where she came from. All that matters is that she and Reev stay together, and maybe one day move out of the freight container they call home, away from the metal walls of the Labyrinth. Kai’s only friend is Avan, the shopkeeper’s son with the scandalous reputation that both frightens and intrigues her.

Then Reev disappears. When keeping silent and safe means losing him forever, Kai vows to do whatever it takes to find him. She will leave the only home she’s ever known and risk getting caught up in a revolution centuries in the making. But to save Reev, Kai must unravel the threads of her past and face shocking truths about her brother, her friendship with Avan, and her unique power.

When it comes to Waiting on Wednesday I always pick a book that will be released the same week, the week after, or within that month. However, this doesn’t seem to apply for this weeks Waiting on Wednesday. All the books that are coming out this month I either got very lucky and got an e-ARC or I’m not THAT excited for it to be released and probably won’t buy it or read anytime soon. So I had to go and search for a book coming out in August!

I added Gates of Thread and Stone to my tbr shelf in May and when I first came across it on Goodreads all I saw was Fantasy and Time travel and I automatically added it to my shelf. And of course there was the beautiful design on the cover that caught my eye, can you blame me?! Look at that cover! It’s just so beautiful. At I later date I finally decided to read the synopsis and I was even more excited for its release!! There are 5 books in total for the month of August that I’m beyond excited for and Gates of Thread and Stone is #1! What are the other 4 you ask? You’ll just have to wait and see ;).

An action-packed, blood-soaked, futuristic debut thriller set in a world where the murder rate is higher than the birthrate. For fans of Moira Young’s Dust Lands series, La Femme Nikita, and the movie Hanna.

Meadow Woodson, a fifteen-year-old girl who has been trained by her father to fight, to kill, and to survive in any situation, lives with her family on a houseboat in Florida. The state is controlled by The Murder Complex, an organization that tracks the population with precision.

The plot starts to thicken when Meadow meets Zephyr James, who is—although he doesn’t know it—one of the MC’s programmed assassins. Is their meeting a coincidence? Destiny? Or part of a terrifying strategy? And will Zephyr keep Meadow from discovering the haunting truth about her family?

Action-packed, blood-soaked, and chilling, this is a dark and compelling debut novel by Lindsay Cummings.

This actually was released yesterday but I still decided to keep it for my Waiting On Wednesday post. I have been waiting for this book to be released; it even made the list for my Top Ten Tuesdays (1): Top Ten 2014 Debuts I’m Excited For. So I’m highly looking forward to heading to Chapters and picking this book up, hopefully today if not this weekend!

I’m also hoping that this will be the book that will break me into the Dystopia genre. Minus 1984 and The Giver the only Dystopian book I’ve read is The 5th Wave, which dragged me into a reading slump back in January and I haven’t been able to finish it since! I own a couple that fall under this category but none have really appealed to me as much as The Murder Complex does.

**In a brand new series, Donna Hosie revisits Logres with THE CHILDREN OF CAMELOT.**

Sixteen-year-old Mila Roth wants to be normal. It’s a phrase that has been drilled into her by her mother since she was born.

But Mila Roth is anything but normal. For sixteen years her parents have hidden a secret from her. For Mila was born one thousand years ago in the land of Logres, and far from being a math teacher and a housewife, Mila’s parents are the awakened King Arthur and Gorian druid queen, Morgana.

Two worlds, one thousand years apart. And those worlds are about to collide.

The spirit of the malevolent Lady of the Lake has been contained for sixteen years in the fabled Ring of Morgana. When the ring curses Mila’s younger sister, Lilly, the Roth family has no choice but to return Mila to the land of her birth as they face a battle against time itself.

Accompanied by her best friend, Rustin, Mila will have to decide whether to defy those she loves in order to save her sister. Should she trust the Gorian druids and the mysterious Melehan? What is the true cost to Mila’s heart as she strives to master the purple flame? And why have her mother and father denied the truth of her origins for so long?

For she alone has the combined power of royalty and druid magic within her.

And now only Mila can save Lilly and Logres.

According to Goodreads this book comes out on May 12th, but apparently it was released early? I’ve seen some comment saying it’s been released already…meh. I added this to my TBR-shelf back in the beginning of April, I remember being completely drawn to the cover. It’s absolutely beautiful! I have not read Donna’s other trilogy; The Return to Camelot and I believe it takes place before this series. Please correct me if I’m wrong. If this is the case then I’ll need to read The Return to Camelot before I can start The Ring of Morgana.

I look forward to reading a Fantasy and Mythology book. I’ve always been fascinated by mythology but haven’t read much books that fall in that genre, yes I still have to read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series! If you happen to have any mythology books that you want to recommend me, please feel free to share!

After a humiliating end to her engagement, investment banker Sidney Sinclair is done with commitment-phobic men. But when her sister winds up engaged after a whirlwind courtship, she’s thrown in to close contact with exactly the kind of sexy playboy she wants to avoid—the gorgeous best man. She’s stuck with him, for better or worse, until her sister walks down the aisle, but that doesn’t mean she has to give in to his smooth advances, no matter how tempting they are…

Special Agent Vaughn Roberts always gets his man on the job and his woman in bed. So Sidney’s refusal to fall for his charms only makes him more determined to win over the cool and confident redhead. Only what starts out as a battle of wills ends up as a serious play for her heart. Because the one woman who refuses to be caught may be the only one Vaughn can’t live without…

I love Julie James. I really do!
All of her books are witty, sassy and just so beautifully written. She has that kind of style that will have you finishing her book in one sitting. Trust me, been there done that multiple times! I would recommend them to ANYONE!! If you’re thinking of grabbing this book, or any of her other books, DO IT! The only book in the series I haven’t read yet is About That Night, #3 so I could be wrong in saying this but I believe this will be the first book in the series that doesn’t have Suspense/Mystery to it.

I’ve included an Author’s Note from Goodreads about why she calls it a series. Basically, you can jump in wherever you would like!

Author note: these books are a “series” in the sense that they are set in a shared world and some characters make appearances in later books. They can, however, easily be standalones. Feel free to jump in wherever you like.

Waiting on Wednesday (4): The Pairing

**Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights highly anticipated upcoming releases.**

The Pairing (The Proposition, #3)

Author: Katie Ashley
Series: The Proposition, #3
Genre: Romance, New Adult
Expected Publication Date: February 18th, 2014

A Companion Novel to The Proposition and The Proposal

After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.

For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sight…at first. But the more he gets to know her, there’s something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.

What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.

There isn’t a whole lot to say other then, I HAVE BEEN WAITING TOO LONG FOR THIS!!! I loved Katie Ashley’s style! I am so excited to see the characters again, Pesh and Megan?! Who would have thought!!! I highly recommend this series!

Part epic fantasy, part twisted fairy tale, this dazzling saga will have readers shivering as Dinahs furious nature sweeps Wonderland up in the maelstrom of her wrath.

Familiar characters such as Cheshire, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter make their appearance, enchanting readers with this new, dark take on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

2014 seems to be the year for retellings!! While I originally was going to post Cress as my choice for this week, I figured that wasn’t fear since I haven’t even finished reading Cinder. So next up was Queen of Hearts!! I was declined to receive this as an ARC so I’m patiently waiting until this book hits the shelves!!

The cover. Like seriously!?!! Can we all just stare are it for a minute…okay 3 minutes later. I’ll stop now. 😀
